Auckland MTB Club Pres. and super Friend of Hunua Hayden has been doing some scoping out of the area and has produced a proposal of new trails that is going through the red tape as we speak. Ranger Scotty has the obligatory ecologist visiting at the end of the month to help tick off one of the required steps before we can wield the spades, but this Sunday we plan to walk you through some of the planned routes and see what you think.
But don’t think that will get you out of any work! There will be some standard maintenance work as well, just to show we love Hunua MTB. As usual, the club will look after you with a high energy lunch and we might even shout a BBQ afterwards thanks to Auckland Regional Parks Southern Sector – but this is only if you let us know you are coming! Just email or call/text Gabb on 0220 STYLEY (789539) by Saturday evening 7:16pm.
We will have the usual pre-bee-wee-hee ride or you can turn up at 10am for the start of the actually Working Bee stuff. Meet at the Maungatawhiri car park at 8.30am if you want to go for a ride, or at 10.00am to rip straight into the work.
