The Timber Trail is a fantastic winter ride. Keep an eye on the weather and when the  forecast is for one of those perfectly clear. crisp, windless days, head to the Central North  Island and ride the timber Trail. If you are very fit, start early and knock the full 85km off in a day.  A better option is a later start and a nice easy ride on the Southern half of the trail from  Piropiro to Ongarue (45km). Book a local accommodation with a fireplace, get a group  together and make a weekend of it. EPIC CYCLE ADVENTURES is offering a special winter rate of $30 ea for a shuttle from  Ongarue to Piropiro and $40 ea from Ongarue to Pureora‐ Minimum group size 4 people.
