17 riders turned up for Paul Becker’s nearly-four-hour-22km-600m-of-climbing tour of the finest trails in the forest (Paul neglected to mention he was in training for Te Tāwhio o Whanganui…) which had come out relatively unscathed after Cyclone Wilma ripped through a few days previous.
10 riders stayed with us to the end, we had three punctures, one broken chain, one wasp nest whose inhabitants didn’t appreciate being run over and proceeded to sting those following behind and one fractured right middle metacarpel (broken hand) after a nosedive off one of the forest’s dodgy structures. Apart from that it was a pretty uneventful ride 🙂
