Riverhead Trailfest – 5/6 Feb 2011

Auckland Mountain Bike Riders have been crying out for some more summer events and particularly in the great Riverhead Forest – well here it is – TRAILFEST Riverhead

This unique event runs over two days with all mountain biking events taking place on day one, and running and walking events on day two.

The weekend kicks off on Saturday 5th February with the mountain bikers hitting the trails first. Entrants will get to experience the great trails and excellent conditions at Riverhead forest first.

There has been a fair amount of milling over the winter of 2010 so the team at total sport have been working hard and have found some great courses, all the glorious untouched tracks and even some touched sections!
Event options include a 10km, 22km or 33km.

Sunday 6th February is day two and sees running or walking events over the same 10km, 22km or 32km distances.
Like the mountain biking event there is a mixture of forest roads and to keep things interesting, a fair bit of single track too.

Whether you are seasoned rider, an average runner or a Mum and Dad looking for your first event to do with your child – there will be an event option that suits you.

The event also doubles as the Oxfam TRAILWALKER training weekend. total sport have worked closely with Oxfam New Zealand throughout the planning process of this event to ensure the perfect training weekend is set-up for all the Oxfam Trailwalker participants. This is the perfect terrain to prepare you for the big 100km in April!
