Total Sport MTB Events

With The Dual just around the corner, we thought we’d share with you a few of the other MTB-related events that our friends over at Total Sport have dreamed up. They’ve got some events to suit all interests, including (dare I say it) non-cycling events…. Anyway, check out the details for the Waihi Anaconda Adventure Race and the T42 Central Plateau.

Event: ANACONDA WAIHI Adventure Race

Date: Saturday 24th April, 2010


ANACONDA WAIHI is a teams or individual multisport adventure race being held for the first time in NZ on Saturday 24th April 2010. The event is genuinely suitable for athletes of all abilities and consists of five legs: 1.6km ocean swim; 14km ocean paddle; 13km coastal/trail run; 26km MTB; 2km team run. The MTB leg features rural tracks and forest trails and a definite surprise factor guaranteed to get tongues wagging! Team members cross the spectacularly sited finish line together on the pit rim of Waihi’s impressive Martha Gold Mine. Grab some friends or family and GO THE DISTANCE. The T42 Central Plateau is a brand new MTB and Trail Run/Walk event being staged on Saturday 1st May on the trails of the spectacular and iconic 42nd Traverse Track. The good folk at total sport (THE DUAL) and Victory Events (The Goat) have teamed up to deliver what promises to be one of Godzone’s all-time classic events. Event options include: 45km MTB; 42km Trail Marathon Run; 24km Trail Adventure Run/Walk; 6.5km Trail Run/Walk. Accommodation partner: The Park Travellers’ Lodge, National Park .
