Report from Sadie:
JAFAKIDS raced awesomely mixing it with the best of the North Island. Several podium places, a couple of learning curves but on a hot day I saw everybody giving it there all. I was really stoked to see JAFAKIDS riders had listened to my instructions of working together on the long open sections with the best example of Ian and Reuben keeping the tempo up by working together around the course. I know Coach Chip was also doing the same with another rider also. Good work team. Well done to Charlotte winning the Downhill the day before and Sophie Marie also on the podium with Charlotte…go the Auckland girls. Nice work turning up to race the XC the next day and mixing it up on the podium with the xc girls. I have to make a mention of Peter Bethell having a blinder race (our own pocket rocket), Kurt Standen owning the Tokoroa course on his new bike, Harley making the effort to get to Tokoroa from Whangarei and being rewarded for his efforts finishing so close to that podium step. As for Sasha Smith parking her bike up for 3 weeks while she was on Outward Bound then stepping up to the Elite race lasting 2 hours.
